Minister of Higher Education and Training, Blade Nzimande will today meet with business leaders to discuss the current situation at universities.

According to an official statement, Nzimande will discuss the critical role of business in supporting and finding solutions and new models to achieve sustainable university education in South Africa.
"The meeting is expected to be attended by various business leaders in South Africa," the statement read.
This comes amid the ongoing violent protests at universities across South Africa, with students demanding free higher education.
Yesterday was another tense day at the Vaal University of Technology with students locked in a stand-off with police and private security.

Protests also erupted at UKZN Westville campus and police had to fire rubber bullets and teargas, while students were throwing glass bottles and rocks over the fence at the university's Oval residence.
Students from the North West University's Vaal campus have been told to disperse or face police action.
Police moved onto the campus yesterday morning saying no gatherings or disturbances will be allowed while a small group of protesting students remained resolute as they sang and called on other students not to leave.
Several students appeared in court yesterday with Wits SRC leader and student activist Mcebo Dlamini that will again appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's court today.
