Missing Irishman found in Edenvale

Police have confirmed the 66-year-old Irishman Stanley
Currie, who was reported missing on Monday, has been found.

National police spokesperson Vishnu Naidoo says the man was found in the Edenvale, east of Johannesburg.
"Around 4 pm yesterday afternoon we received a call from a member of the community, alerting us of a man who missed lost in the Edenvale area," says Naidoo.
Naidoo adds when the police arrived at the scene it was confirmed it was Currie.
"We didn't find him to have sustained any visible injuries, but as a precautionary measure we had him take in for medical assessment."
Naidoo says the police have not received the medical report and are yet to interview Currie to determine if there were any elements of criminality.

According to a message posted by his brother, Richard Currie, in the Facebook page eblockwatch CommUnity - Currie travelled to the country to meet a woman he had been chatting with online for the past two years.
His brother later posted a message of gratitude when the missing Currie was found on Monday.
"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the assistance and kind thoughts we have had from you all."
