Missing Lantern School pupil found

A missing grade 8 pupil from Lantern School, who went missing on Monday, has been found, according to the Gauteng Department of Education.

She was found in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg.

The Department of Education’s Steve Mabona says pupils spotted her walking in Roodepoort on Wednesday.
“The said learner….was spotted walking in Roodepoort by some learners and they rushed to the school to alert them. Subsequently, the school official rushed to the specified area and indeed they found her there. She was then later reunited with her family at about six o'clock in the evening.”
She is expected to take undergo a medical examination on Thursday.
The department's Psychosocial Unit will also offer the girl's family counselling.
