MK Party is a project to disrupt the ANC - Mbalula
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula claims that the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party was formed to disrupt the governing party's campaign ahead of the May 29 elections.
Mbalula addressed the media on Monday, hours after the court ruled in favour of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, allowing it to continue using the name and logo of the ANC's disbanded military wing.
The governing party accused the MK party of violating the Trademarks Act by using a name and logo similar to that of the ANC’s disbanded military wing.
Mbalula says the MK Party stole the party's trademarks, symbols and heritage.
He added according to the ANC, the MK Party has no intention of governing but to disrupt.
"This is not a political party, it is a project meant to disrupt the ANC not for any other purpose but for Zuma's interest.
"It is disguised as a radical form of things to happen, that Ramaphosa and the ANC have not done," says Mbalula.
Mbalula says the ANC is growing better under the leadership of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
"This organisation has become better and it is going to become even better and healthier going forward.
"In terms of policy, direction, certainty, leading people with integrity, that is what is going to happen with the ANC going forward, because the ANC has adopted a renewal programme," says Mbalula
