Ramaphosa met with Mkhwebane on Tuesday following a complaint that the president tried to mislead Parliament with regards to a payment that had been made by Bosasa towards his ANC presidential campaign.

This after Ramaphosa admitted to making an error in Parliament last year while answering a question about R500 000 donated by Bosasa into his campaign account.

Ramaphosa has told parliament that his son, Andile, had assured him that he received legitimate payment for services to the scandalous company through his business consultancy.

He told MPs at the time that he would be the first to send his son to jail if Andile Ramahosa's version proved false.

Ramaphosa claimed to have no knowledge of the money, adding that it has been paid back.

The DA subsequently asked the public protector to investigate the matter.

Spokesperson Oupa Segalwe says the office normally does not share details of any investigation.

"That would effectively put the investigation in peril. All I can say at the moment is to confirm that there is an investigation and that any outcome of whatever meeting that took place which is part of that particular investigation will be communicated as part of the report that will follow the investigation process."

Segalwe could not confirm whether or not there would be a follow-up meeting.
