Mkhwebane wants #Guptaleaks included in state capture probe

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkwebane has drawn up her own terms of reference for the judicial commission of inquiry into state capture, requesting President Jacob Zuma to include the leaked Gupta emails in the probe.

Mkhwebane admits that her office is cash-strapped and has requested President Zuma to include complaints of state capture into the inquiry, that she is unable to probe.
In a statement, Mkhwebane says the lack of funding for her office means it will not be able to properly investigate all allegations of state capture.
"My office has not been properly resourced, despite the important role it plays in South Africa. In the current financial year, despite the fact that I have requested and motivated for a budget of at least R1 billion, the National Treasury has cut this institution's budget by R8 million."
Zuma announced the establishment of the commission last week, saying "the matter cannot wait any longer".
Police Minister, Fikile Mbalula also assured that state capture is being investigated
"There's going to be bombs that are going to come in relation to this issue of corruption," said Mbalula during a press conference on Wednesday.
