For Mlangeni to rest in peace, we must renew ANC - Mbeki
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Former president Thabo Mbeki says the African National Congress (ANC) must heed the resolutions of its 2016 national congress as a tribute to party stalwart Andrew Mlangeni.
Mbeki made the remarks at Mlangeni's funeral on Wednesday.
"He was very concerned about the ANC, a movement he and others build over many decades and very concerned about what is happening in our country with regards to the revolution for which he sacrificed his life," said Mbeki.
Mbeki said all those saying that Mlangeni's spirit lives on must say it with meaning and conviction.
"For us to say those things with feeling, meaning, and seriousness it must be because we then we are saying those things because we are committing ourselves to the renewal of the ANC he build of which he was concerned.”
