Police are maintaining a high visibility.

Disgruntled residents are calling for access to water.

Maidi Monareng reports.

A municipal building and several houses belonging to police officers had been set alight by protestors.

Police officer Mahlore Chokoe says his home was targeted after he tried preventing protestors from going into town.

Protesting resident Stanley Blanco says Mayor Elizabeth Lekalakala has failed the community.

He says residents have been without clean running water since December.

"The mayor has failed us in a big way. Funds have not been spent as it should," he says.
