Molefe ruling ‘a victory for accountability’
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Political parties have welcomed the ruling in
the High Court in Pretoria, which declared the pension payout given to former
Eskom CEO Brian Molefe as unlawful.

The court also set aside the order of his subsequent reinstatement to the position.
Molefe was ordered to pay back the R11-million from his pension pay-out within 10 days.
Cosatu is happy that the court "has exposed this charade and has excoriated both Eskom and Brian Molefe for concocting such a fraudulent scheme to fleece the power utility”.
The Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) Mbuyiseni Ndlozi described the ruling as a victory for accountability.
He says the blame for the debacle must be laid squarely at the door of the African National Congress (ANC).
The United Democratic Movement (UDM) says they are happy that justice was served.
Secretary General, Bongani Msomi, says Molefe must be charged, along with former Eskom chairperson Ben Ngubani.
Msomi says the culture of profiting from the poor needs to come to an end.
