Mom: Stop speculating and find my child!
An exhausted Sandra November joined a search party which combed a Philippi field for traces of the little girl on Thursday night.
Volunteers walked through an unlit back road leading into the farmlands armed with torches, knobkieries and thick jackets for the cold.
The locals who made up the search team quietly speculated about whether Shasha, affectionately known as Meisie, would ever be found.
“Terrible” rumours circulating within the community have been exceptionally traumatising, Sandra told News24.
“People have said my husband and I should be investigated because we know more than we are letting on,” she said.
“Why would I be here if I knew where she was? Everyone should stop speculating and please help find my child.”
She confirmed she had been questioned by police five times since her daughter’s disappearance.
“I have no more information to give. I am doing all I can to find my girl. I miss her. I pray for her all the time.”
Claims of Shasha being forced into a suspicious black car as well as the 6-year-old being spotted wandering through Lavender Hill, have not yielded any concrete leads.
Search team leader Igshaan Nazier said the group’s first priority should be to find the child.
“Once she is back, we can look into the details of what happened. Bringing her home alive and well is our main concern.”
A vigil is being planned for Friday night where locals will pray for her safe return.
Provincial police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk confirmed no new developments have been reported and the searches are continuing.
