The matter was postponed to April 24 for an indictment to be served on them.

It had been expected that an indictment would be served on Friday, but prosecutor Nadira Moosa said new evidence required further investigation.

Attorney Jayshree Baijnath, 39, businesswoman Shana Mangroo, 44, Dhanaseelan "Deven" Manickam, 43, businessman Rajendran Chetty, 44, advocate Veronica Rathilal, 44, and panelbeater Logandren Francis, 27, are all charged with murder.

They have indicated their intention to plead not guilty.

They were arrested in August following the conviction of Gregory Pillay, who was sentenced to 18 years in jail after pleading guilty to Anendrai's murder.

Anendrai was shot dead in his Mercedes Benz in Chatsworth on March 18 by Pillay, who claimed he was paid only R20,000 of the R120,000 he had been promised for the hit.

Pillay has reportedly testified that Manickam gave him the weapon he used.
