Mookgophong residents furious over shooting

The family of the man who was killed during a service delivery protests in Mookgophong in Limpopo have expressed their fury at Monday's events.

Family of Ben Matlou, who was shot during service delivery protests, say he died on arrival at the local clinic.
His brother Marcus Matlou said police told them they do not know who shot him.
"The family is angry and we are surprised...Those people who shot my brother, I don't know if they are really the police or not," he said.

Protests have again erupted on Tuesday after protesters took to the streets yesterday.
According to the police 22 people were arrested on charges of public violence and malicious damage to property after residents took to the streets, demanding the resignation of Mayor Sarah Monyamane.
"Streets were blocked and four structures were set alight. One of them was a house belonging to the husband of the Mayor and another belonged to councillors accused of being loyal to the Municipality," police said.
Police spokesperson Ronel Otto said members of the police also came under attack when petrol bombs were thrown at a Nyala vehicle.
