More than 100 arrested in Tshwane for various crimes
The metro police in Tshwane has arrested more than 100
suspects for various crimes since the beginning of festive season.
The city's metro police department says it has also intensified its road safety operations in an effort to reduce the road carnage and clamp down on criminals.
Spokesperson Isaac Mahamba says an estimated 142 573 fines have been issued for traffic and by-law offences.
"We have arrested about 14 people that were involved in drugs or found in possession of drugs," says Mahamba.
He adds 17 were arrested for driving under the influence of while 3 more were apprehended for hijacking and possession of stolen vehicles.
