More than 500 new Covid-19 fatalities in SA
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says the country has recorded more than 500 new Covid-19-related fatalities.
This brings the tally to 30 524.
The Western Cape accounts for the most fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.
“Regrettably, a further 513 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 124, Free State 14, Gauteng 64, Kwa-Zulu Natal 92, Limpopo 3, Northern Cape 14 and Western Cape 202,” Mkhize said on Tuesday night.
The number of active cases also increased by 14 410, bring the total active cases to 176 356.
The cumulative total sits at 1 127 759.
The recovery rate has further dropped to 81.6%.
