More prisoners escape from custody

Police have launched a manhunt for three convicted murderers, who escaped from the Johannesburg High Court.
The three suspects escaped last week Thursday after they were sentenced to life imprisonment each.
Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini says the suspects were jailed after killing a family.
"The prisoners were convicted and sentenced for murder of a family at Lawley during August 2016. A woman, her son, daughter and a daughter-in-law were shot and killed,'' says Dlamini.
Dlamini says police could not immediately come forward with the information of the prison escape, due to the nature of the investigation.

"There is a high level of investigation that has been conducted to trace the prisoners, that is why police could not release the information immediately", he adds.
The latest prison escape is the second for the month.
Earlier in the same week, 16 prisoners escaped from the so-called 'Sun City' prison in Johannesburg.
However, two were subsequently shot and killed by police in KwaZulu-Natal.
