Mother allegedly poisons twins

Police spokesperson Constable Lucky Matome says neighbours noticed her strange behaviour and alerted police.

 

“One of the neighbours noticed a strange behaviour and contacted the police. On arrival police found the twins already passed away and the mother started to vomit”, he says.

 

Matome says the woman allegedly sent her husband an SMS before poisoning the two children to inform him that she would kill herself and the twins.

 

The woman tried to commit suicide by stabbing herself several times in the presence of police.

 

Matome says a police officer was injured while trying to take the knife away from her.

 

The mother was taken to a hospital under police guard and will appear in the Randfontein Magistrate Court as soon as she is fit to stand trial.

 

 

Meanwhile police are investigating a murder after a decapitated body of a woman was found near a road in Killarney.

 

According to police the discovery was made by a homeless man.
