Mother and child die after falling six storeys
A mother and her five-year-old daughter died when they fell six storeys from a building on Claim Street in Joubert Park, Johannesburg, on Saturday night.
A mother and her five-year-old daughter died when they fell six storeys from a building on Claim Street in Joubert Park, Johannesburg, on Saturday night.
ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said paramedics, along with local authorities, responded to the scene and found the pair lying on the pavement.
“On assessment, paramedics found that the mother had already succumbed to her multiple fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for her and she was declared dead. The child was found to be in a critical condition.
“Paramedics treated her and provided her with advanced life support intervention. Unfortunately after some time, the child succumbed to her injuries.”
The cause of the incident was not yet known and local authorities were investigating, Meiring said.
