Mother, toddler hit by own car
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
A mother and her toddler are recovering in hospital after they were knocked over by the woman’s own car outside a school in Welbekend, Pretoria.
Netcare911 spokesperson Nick Dollman said reports indicate that the mother had gone to the school to fetch her other children.
"She and her toddler were waiting on the grass area when the handbrake of their vehicle allegedly failed and the vehicle rolled forward and ran over the two.”
The mother and the toddler both sustained serious injuries.
"Once stabilised they were transported quickly to a hospital for the specialised care that they required."
