Motion to impeach Zuma fails
Updated | By Laila Majiet
The motion to impeach President Jacob Zuma has failed.

The DA-led motion was debated in the National Assembly on Tuesday.
No one abstained from the vote, with 143 voting in favour and 233 against.
Opposition parties walked out shortly after the results were announced.
EFF leader Julius Malema branded ANC MPs traitors for voting against the Constitution.
EFF leader Julius Malema said: "You must be ready for what is coming to you. You are again committing an illegal act by voting for wrong things. You are traitors. You have raped the Constitution."
Opposition parties will now ask Speaker Baleka Mbete to institute an independent inquiry into Zuma.
DA leader Mmusi Maimane said: "There must be a disciplinary process against him. He has in Parliament lied to the people of South Africa, saying he has a bond."
The motion comes after the Constitutional Court on Thursday found that the President failed to uphold, defend and respect the Constitution with regards to the Nkandla matter.
Meanwhile, former finance minister Trevor Manuel has called for the President to step down.
