Gauteng Traffic Police have urged motorists to be patient on the roads as they make their way back to the province from various holiday destinations across the country.
Gauteng Traffic Police Deputy Director, Busaphi Nxumalo, says motorists should respect the rules of the road.
She adds the N1 is expected to be busy as motorists make their way back from Limpopo into Gauteng.
"As 980 vehicles have been counted per hour and on the N3, De Hoek [Plaza] 790 per hour are passing at the toll gate," says Nxumalo.
Nxumalo could not confirm the number of accidents on the roads in the province, however, the Minister of Transport, Blade Nzimande is expected to release the stats on Friday.
