Updated | By Algoa FM
A motorist who tried to assist a rape victim on the side of the road in Seshego was hacked to death by the same suspects on Friday.
Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the Provincial Police Commissioner in Limpopo has instructed his team to hunt down the six men, who are believed to be Zimbabweans.
He says two women, aged 25 and 30, were walking from an ATM at a filling station when the unknown men approached them shortly before 9 pm.
Colonel Ledwaba says the men robbed them of their phones, money and a jersey before the younger woman was dragged into the bushes and raped.
He says the rape victim managed to free herself and ran into the road, calling for help.

A vehicle with five occupants reportedly stopped next to her and as she was explaining what had happened the suspects caught up with her.
Colonel Ledwaba says the motorist was hacked to death with a sharp object and died at the scene while one of his passengers was stabbed and seriously injured.
A manhunt has now been launched to bring those responsible to book.
