Motshekga: Top matric achievers example of hard work, dedication

Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga has thanked the parents of the Class of 2023’s top achievers for their commitment to education.

The Department of Basic Education hosted a congratulatory breakfast for the country's top achievers in Randburg on Thursday.
Motshekga will announce the national and provincial pass rates on Thursday evening.
On Friday, individual pupils will know their fate.
Motshekga lauded the pupils as a great example of what the country can achieve through hard work and dedication.
"For you to be here is a big achievement, Not only for you but for the parents as well.
"Your adaptability and fortitude as top achievers continue to show and confirm that excellence is achievable even in adversity. The achievements of these young people are not just individual victories.
"They are a collective triumph of a nation that believes in the transformative power of Basic Education. These achievers are showing us that Basic Education is the most potent tool for nation-building,” she added.
