Motsoko Pheko hailed as committed leader, father of struggle movement

The Pan Africanist Congress has hailed its former leader and struggle stalwart Dr Motsoko Pheko as a committed leader.
This as tributes continue to pour in following the passing of Dr Pheko, who died on Friday at the age of 93.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has also expressed sadness over his death and passed a message of condolence to the family.
Dr Pheko served as MP for ten years and served in different portfolio committees, including Foreign Affairs and Safety and Security.
He was a renowned lawyer, author and historian.
PAC spokesperson Apa Pooe said Dr Pheko played a big role in getting the party recognised in the country and abroad.
“He was an acute leader, a very commendable leader and a committed father of our movement.
“He was a prolific writer, he documented the PAC history very well including what happened at Robben Island. We will forever cherish his memory.
“We pass our condolences to the family, friends and all those who loved Dr Pheko."
The funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by the family.
