Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
A 56-year-old teacher from Tonga in Mpumalanga has been released on bail after he allegedly sexually assaulted eight Grade 7 pupils.
“He would allegedly call them over to his desk during class, show them pornographic videos as well as images and lure them individually to a storeroom to commit his evil deeds,” says police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi on Thursday.
The 56-year-old allegedly sexually assaulted seven boys and a girl.
The horrific incidents are said to have take place from March to September before he was arrested on Wednesday.
Hlathi says he appeared in the Tonga Magistrate's court on Thursday.
“He was granted R 2000 bail and is expected to appear at the same court on January 20.”
