Tshwane Mayor Solly Masinga as the party’s candidate to become premier of
Gauteng.

The party made the annoucement at its Nkululeko House headquerters in Bruma, east of Johannesburg.
The announcement comes after a two-day meeting of the party's Federal Executive Committee.
DA leader Mmusi Maimane says Msimanga was chosen as the party’s candidate after a competitive and rigorous selection process.
The hotly contested race also saw Gauteng MPL Makashule Gana, MP Ghaleb Cachalia and national spokesperson Refiloe Nt’sheke put up their hands to lead the Gauteng DA into next year’s national elections.
Msimanga described the nomination as an honour,
saying he is proud to be chosen to lead the DA in the province he was
born.
