Msimanga vows to secure Wapadrand substation
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga says the city will deploy security personnel at the Wapadrand substation amid claims of sabotage.

Msimanga was speaking Jacaranda FM's Scenic Drive with Rian following the week-long power outage in Pretoria East.
Several suburbs were dumped in the darkness last Tuesday when a devastating fire broke out at the power station.
Since then restoration efforts have been hampered by several instances of cable theft.
"I am taking a report to council that we are now going to have to employ security . I am looking to employ extra 1000 security personnel,” Msimanga told Rian.
"In in the last couple of weeks, we have bought brand-new vehicles, off-roaders for our metro police personnel, we have bought night-goggles for them.”
The mayor says a similar incident of attempted theft was foiled in Centurion on Tuesday morning.
