Mthembu: Ramaphosa will address nation on Covid-19 next week

President Cyril Ramaphosa will address South Africans on the Covid-19 situation in the country next week.

He is expected give an update on government’s efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
It comes amid a concern over a possible second wave of Covid-19 infections.
This was confirmed by Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu on Thursday when he briefed the media on the outcomes of this week’s cabinet meeting.
Mthembu said Ramaphosa will address the nation after a meeting with the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC).

“Cabinet will deliberate the outcomes of the National Coronavirus Command Council to be held next week. President Ramaphosa will thereafter brief the nation on the developments in South Africa’s risk-adjusted strategy to manage the spread of Covid-19.”
There has been speculation that government might decide to impose a harder lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Most European countries are returning to stricter lockdown as they record an increase in Covid-19 infections.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has denied the reports, assuring South Africans that the country will not be returning to level three of the lockdown.
