Much-needed rain causes havoc
Updated | By MornéJK
Roads, shopping centres and schools in Pretoria East were flooded after a cloud burst led to flash floods in the area yesterday.

According to residents in the area more than a hundred millimetres of rain fell in less than 30 minutes.
Walls collapsed while some vehicles were swept away in the flash floods. Emergency services had to attend to various incidents in the area.
Pictures and videos were shared on social media, showing cars and even people being swept away.
Meanwhile, the rain brought some much-needed relief to parts of the world-renowned Kruger National Park.

Visitors to the park posted photos on social media, showing rain falling in drought-stricken areas.
The Kruger National Park's William Mabasa told Jacaranda FM News that it was the first significant rain this year.
"This comes during a time where the park is experiencing severe drought and it looks like it is going to continue - so we really welcome this," Mabasa said.
