Multiple areas in Tshwane without power
The City of Tshwane says the multiple power outages is due to the inclement weather conditions over the past few days.
“The city’s technicians have been unbale to work on electrical cables while it’s raining as it is not safe to do so,” says spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.
“The challenge is also compounded by prolonged loadshedding which makes it extremely difficult for teams to work in the dark, especially on overhead lines.”
Mashigo says there is no estimated time of restoration.
“Currently, our teams are attending to power outages affecting Mooikloof, The Willows, Lynwood and Lynburn. The outages were caused by fallen trees that damaged overhead lines in the mentioned areas.
“Plans for repairs are currently underway. The estimated restoration time is not yet known.
“Eskom’s team of technicians has been patrolling the network line in parts of Region 7 with a view of identifying a fault point which resulted in a power outage in the area.”
“According to the power utility, the patrolling will continue until the fault point is identified to allow their technicians to effect necessary repairs.”
