Municipal manager Rufus Beukes says the municipality has already been granted an interdict to stop houses being built on the land.

The farm’s owner Adriaan Nieuwoudt, promised a free 1 000 square metre piece of land to any white South African who wants to help "fight against the uprooting of the white race".

The settlement, named Eureka, was almost built on land bought back in 2016.

Beukes says they were granted the interdict by the Garies Magistrates Court on Thursday.

"The municipality successfully obtained a permanent order directing that all persons are interdicted from continuing any construction of any buildings or structures at the farm.”

Beukes says Nieuwoudt attempted to appeal the order but was unsuccessful.

"Prior to the granting of the interim order, the owner of the darm, as well as those acting on his behalf or with his consent, had failed or refused to comply with the municipality’s notices calling on immediate ceasing of construction work at the farm."

The next step is to remove the buildings, Beukes says.

"What we're going to do now is we're going to for the demolition order because he's already erected illegal buildings on the farm."
