Gauteng police have arrested eighteen people for murder and attempted murder in Eldorado Park and Westbury.

The suspects were arrested in separate locations between Monday and Tuesday.
The police’s anti-gang unit also recovered six unlicensed firearms during the arrests.
Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says one of the suspects was arrested on Tuesday after a man was shot and killed in Eldorado Park on Saturday.
"It is reported that a group of men were having drinks after a funeral when a Golf 7, with five occupants, stopped next to them and fired shots towards them. One person was fatally wounded. Police are still searching for other suspects.”
The other two suspects were arrested on Monday in connection with a murder and attempted murder in Eldorado Park in July.
"It is reported that a group of men were sitting next to a block of flats when they were approached by two suspects who are known to them. The suspects then fired shots that resulted in one man being killed and the other man being injured and taken to hospital. The police have been looking for the suspects until Monday when they arrested them in Eldorado Park," adds Masondo.
Masondo says one of the suspects was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition while the other suspect is linked to another case of attempted murder that occurred in 2021.
All eighteen suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
