N3 upgrades could take up to a decade to complete says Sanral
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Sanral is urging N3 road users to exercise caution, saying its interchange construction project, will take a few years to complete.

This upgrade of the N3 is to be done under several packages.
The package between Main Road and Ashburton will be fully completed by 2026 and this will include upgrades to the R103 to accommodate traffic while the construction of the main line is completed.
The full upgrade is perceived to take between 8 and 10 years.
The SA National Roads Agency's Eastern Region Manager, Stephne Wilmot says major road upgrades have begun on the route between Ashburton and Murray Road as well as Cato Ridge and Lynfield Park.
Over the weekend, the N3 at the Ashburton and Market Road interchange was completely closed due to the demolition of a bridge. Wilmot says they are pleased with the work that has been carried out so far.
"Demolition of the bridge went well with all activities going to plan and both carriageways being opened to traffic well before the anticipated time."
