New Covid-19 cases rise by over 3 000, 15 new deaths

The number of Covid-19 cases in South Africa now stands at 3 417 318.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases said on Monday evening that 3 782 new coronavirus cases had been recorded since its previous report.
This represents a 22% positivity rate.
The majority of new cases are from KwaZulu-Natal (27%), followed by Gauteng (22%), while the Western Cape accounted for 17% and the Eastern Cape for 14%.
The death toll has climbed to 90 829, with 15 new deaths reported.
The country's recovery rate currently stands at 91.3%, with just over 106 000 active cases.
Only 2 884 vaccines were administered over the last 24 hours.
