NFP continues fight in Electoral Court
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The National Freedom Party (NFP) is expected to return to the Electoral Court on Friday to continue its fight to participate in the Local Government Elections next Wednesday.
The NFP has taken the matter back to the Electoral Court following the Independent Electoral Commission's (IEC) decision to stand by its earlier pronouncement to disqualify the party.
The NFP was disqualified by the IEC after it missed a deadline at the beginning of June to pay a deposit to secure its participation in the municipal elections.
A previous application was dismissed by the court in June.
In the second application, the NFP said it would continue its fight up until the election.
