NFP treasurer faces disciplinary action over election blunder
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The NFP treasurer who failed to make payment to the IEC on time so the party could contest the recent local government elections is expected to appear before the party's disciplinary committee on Saturday.

Xolani Ndlovu has not been seen since the party was disqualified from partaking in the municipal polls.
An e-mail thought to be from him was, however, sent to several media houses last month - saying Ndlovu takes responsibility for the mistake but denying he was bribed to deliberately mess up the NFP's chances at the polls.
Addressing the media in Durban earlier, acting NFP national chairperson Bheki Gumbi said they had been communicating with Ndlovu through a third party.
"We reported to the administrator to open a case because he left with office belongings such as cellphones of the organisation. Hopefully, investigators or police will find him. We can't find him although we have tried. In terms of that email - we were very shocked. You won't believe that email was also sent to IEC," he said.
The NFP says while it realises the magnitude of the blow dealt by its exclusion from the local government elections, it's now working on maximising its presence in future elections.
Gumbi says they applaud the discipline that members showed by not disrupting the polls out of frustration.
He says they are planning on coming back stronger than ever.
"Our approach will be going all out, holding intensive interaction and engagements with all our members and supporters including traditional leaders and non-governmental organisations. We will visit each and every ward in the country - talking directly to our people," he said.
