Nine dead after truck, taxi collide
Nine people have died in a horrific collision in Limpopo this morning.
A truck and taxi collided on the R579 between Lebowakgomo and Masemola at the Apel Cross in Sekhukhune.
Provincial transport spokesperson Joshua Kwapa says: "A kombi collided head on with a truck. Nine people have lost their lives, including the driver of the kombi."
Police and emergency services personnel are still on scene.
Kwapa says the road is still closed.
Limpopo health spokesperson Thabiso Teffo says seven people have been critically injured and are being transported to a nearby hospital.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
