Nine injured in ‘tornado’

Paramedics say nine people have been injured after a reported tornado ripped through Gauteng and Mpumalanga on Monday.
ER24 says six people were injured at a business premises in Delmas.
Spokesperson Russell Meiring says ER24 paramedics first responded to a business off the R50 in Delmas where a building had been damaged.
"Upon arrival, paramedics found that a small building had been seriously damaged, injuring the six people inside. They had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate,” Meiring says.

The patients were transported to various hospitals for further treatment.
Meiring says paramedics were then called to a home that had collapsed in Bapsfontein in Ekurhuleni.

"Upon arrival, paramedics found that a man and his two children had sustained minor to serious injuries. The three patients were treated and provided with pain-relief medication before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment,” Meiring explains.
Netcare911 says one person has been killed and two others injured when the alleged tornado swept through Krugersdorp.
A severe storm moved across Gauteng on Monday afternoon - leaving a trail of devastation.
Roofs were blown off, buildings damaged and trees uprooted.
Roads were flooded during the heavy downpour.
