Nine killed in De Doorns accident
Nine people have been killed and four seriously injured in an accident on the N1 highway outside Worcester, Cape Town.
Nine people have been killed and four seriously injured in an accident involving a truck and a minibus taxi on the N1 highway outside Worcester, Cape Town emergency medical services said on Tuesday.
"A truck was parked on the shoulder of the road when it was hitfrom behind by the taxi," spokesman Robert Daniels said. He said it was not clear if the truck had just parked or if it had broken down.
The accident forced emergency services to close the road for atleast three hours as they worked to clear the scene.
