Maimane said his government will award opportunities to entrepreneurs based on merit and qualifications.

He delivered BOSA’s first-ever manifesto in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Maimane, who is a former leader of the DA, said BOSA would grow the country’s economy through supporting small and local businesses.

"We will create a national venture fund for graduates from TVET (Colleges) and universities who want to create companies aligned with our strategic manufacturing interests.

“We will establish a Jobs and Justice Fund to which businesses will contribute their empowerment funding and will be administered by public finance professionals, not politicians.

“The fund will ensure real empowerment through distribution to real empowerment initiatives which bridge the gap between power and potential.”

He said under the BOSA-led government, matriculants will be afforded an opportunity to volunteer in government and gain skills.

"Recognising the challenges faced by our young South Africans in the job market, we aim to empower and engage them as meaningful contributors to our economy and long-term growth.

“This service year will bridge the transition from school to the working world, offering opportunities for work-based training in community healthcare, basic education, or SAPS fields. Matriculants will gain valuable experience while earning a small stipend, setting the foundation for their future success," he said.
