No load shedding anticipated on Saturday

The power system is expected to be stable with a low risk of load shedding on Saturday, Eskom said.
“In the past six weeks we have had only two-hours-and-20 minutes of load shedding. And, since it was stage one load shedding, this meant that 96 percent of South Africans still received uninterrupted electricity supply,” the power utility said in a statement.
Eskom called on all South Africans to pull together and use electricity sparingly by “living lightly” this summer.
“Less is more this summer and homeowners and businesses can do so with just four steps: first, switching off geysers and pool pumps; second, switching off non-essential lights; third, efficient use of air-conditioners by keeping the room temperature at 23°C; and finally, responding to the alerts on TV each day,” Eskom said.
