Embattled power utility Eskom says no rolling blackouts are expected this coming weekend.

The cash-strapped entity has not implemented load shedding since February 22.

But spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha warns that the system remains constrained.
"We remind South Africans that there is a possibility of increased load shedding as we are conducting critical maintenance to restore the ageing plant to good health.
"We have just over 10 500 MW of capacity in unplanned breakdowns and we are working hard to reduce that further but that is still low enough for us to carry on through the weekend without load shedding."
"Unplanned breakdowns or outages were at 10 728MW as at 06:50 this morning and planned maintenance outages are at 4 660MW."
