“Eskom has been able to supply the country’s electricity needs and do maintenance without implementing loadshedding for the past 26 days. Our maintenance plan is aimed at increasing the reliability of our plant, and this will in turn increase our operating reserves and stabilise the grid,” the power utility said.

“No loadshedding is anticipated today as the power system is currently stable. However, the system remains vulnerable, meaning that any extra load or faults in the system may necessitate the need to implement loadshedding at short notice.”

Eskom appealed to all customers to continue reducing their electricity usage throughout the day, especially during the peak periods from 6am to 10am and from 5pm to 9pm.
