No names to be published with matric results
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
Matric results published in newspapers would only reflect the ID and exam numbers of pupils and not their names, the department of basic education said on Tuesday.
The decision was made after a task team recommended that the practice of publishing individual names be reviewed, spokesman Elijah Mhlanga said in a statement.
During the Council of Education Ministers' meeting on Monday, it was decided that publishing of pupil results should be reviewed.
The meeting was held in Pretoria and hosted by Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga.
