No water works on election day
Updated | By Lonwabo Miso
While long queues snaked around voting stations in Kroonstad on Wednesday, many women and children in the area spent the day in a search for water, SABC news reported.

Election day marked the third in which Maokeng has gone without water.
As people carried large plastic containers and empty bottles to a municipal truck in the township, Boitumelo Hospital in the area said an army base would supply water.
A mother of two, aged 43, who was walking with her grandchild, said Wednesday was the first day water trucks had been brought in for people to get some
water.
She said Snakepark, Gelukwaarts and Constantia sections in Maokeng had also been without water.
The Moqhaka Municipality said it was aware of the problem and engineers were busy trying to restore the supply.
There was a large turnout of voters at Phephetso Secondary and the Maokeng Primary School where lines moved briskly.
