No injuries reported in fire at Correctional Services Headquarters
The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) has confirmed that a fire erupted in the West Wing Block of its Head Office, Poyntons Building, in Pretoria early Sunday evening.
The incident affected the sixth floor of the building.
Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo says an investigation will be launched to establish the cause of the fire.
"The City of Tshwane Emergency Services responded promptly, and the fire has since been fully extinguished.
"DCS can confirm that no injuries were reported, and all personnel present in the building have been safely accounted for.
"The safety of our employees and the security of our facilities remain a top priority,” said Nxumalo.
