North West province all geared up for final matric exams

With a week before the start of the matric final examination, the North West province said it was ready for the huge undertaking.
“A total of 33,844 learners from 383 schools across the North West province are geared up for the 2015 National Senior Certificate [NSC] matric examinations which starts on 26 October to 27 November 2015,” spokesman Elias Malindi, said on Thursday.
“The packing of all Grade 12 question papers has taken place from 25 September and will run until 18 October 2015.
Papers will be stored centrally and will be collected under police escort on a daily basis. They will be delivered daily from distribution points to schools and scripts will be returned daily to the distribution points.”
He said 15 marking centres for Grade 12 have been identified. A total of 3,184 marking staff has been appointed to mark the Grade 12 scripts.
“Chief marker and internal moderators will be trained on 23 October whilst training for venue management will take place on 11 November. Training for markers will be on 2 and 3 December.”
Marking of scripts would commence from December 4-14 and the capturing of marks would run from December 7-18.
“Umalusi standardisation will take place on 23 December and results are expected to be issued on 6 January 2016 at a venue to be announced,” he added.
