North West urges children to stay home in severe weather

The North West Department of Education has called on parents and scholar transport operators to prioritize caution while transporting learners to schools due to ongoing heavy rainfall over various parts of the province.

With most areas affected by the past week’s adverse weather conditions, the department advises against traveling near rivers and dams, stressing the significant safety risks.

In a statement, the department emphasized the importance of adhering to safe driving speeds during these conditions and recommended that parents avoid sending their children to school in severe weather.
Additionally, the department urged children to stay away from running water or pools, as such activities increase the risk of danger.
Parents are also encouraged to monitor weather updates to ensure their families' safety.
