“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of a dear comrade and a colleague. He was admitted to hospital last week and was always in good spirit and confident of a full recovery. Unfortunately, he took a bad turn and was declared deceased earlier this evening.”
Jack is not the only senior member of a provincial government who has succumbed to Covid-19.
In July, North West MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Gordon Kegakilwe, also passed away due to coronavirus.
He died while he was being transferred from a Vryburg Private Hospital to a health facility in Klerksdorp.
