Ntuli voices concern over online voting in DA leadership race
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Democratic Alliance (DA) leadership candidate, Mbali Ntuli has expressed concern over the digital voting system that will be used for the party's elective conference.

She was briefing the media via her Facebook page on Monday morning as the party heads into the final months before voting for a new leader.
The DA is set to have its first virtual elective conference from 31 October to 1 November.
The party is set to use a digital voting system for delegates to cast a vote for their preferred leader.
Ntuli, who is a Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL) in KwaZulu-Natal, is going head-to-head for the party’s top leadership position against interim Leader, John Steenhuisen.

She was briefing the media LIVE on her Facebook page on Monday morning - as the party heads into the final months before voting for a new leader. Ntuli - who is a Member of Provincial Legislature (MPL) in KwaZulu-Natal - believes in order to keep up with democratic liberal practices, a public debate with Steenhuisen is necessary.
Ntuli says she has spoken to “many IT experts” who have concerns over the online voting system's architecture.
"The system will not allow any verification of who is actually voting, it will only allow us to know a vote took place,” she says.
"And obviously this is not auditable and problematic if we intend to run a free and fair process digitally."
