Numsa ‘still studying’ Labour Court ruling
Updated | By Makhosazane Twala
The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa said on Sunday it was still studying a court judgment on the suspension of its second deputy president Ruth Ntlokose and 30 other officials.
The Labour Court declared the suspensions invalid, unconstitutional, and unenforceable by law in a ruling delivered on Saturday.
The suspended official told the court Numsa wanted to silence them ahead of the union’s national congress.
Numsa has been restrained from proceeding with its national congress, scheduled to take place from Monday to Friday, until it fully complies with the terms of its own constitution.
